When will we ever learn?

How long can we live in the denial that we need to work in a world where we all recognize one another's value and contribution? We are aware of the damage that slavery and religion has caused in elevating one person above another and we saw what Enron did to common morale. According to the BBC news today however:

"Taking inflation into account, executive salaries have more than doubled since 2000, the TUC calculated."

This is all great for the executives but there will eventually be a backlash. There is only so long that one small portion of the community can get away with something like this before the people they are called to lead punish them in some way.

Money Talks

For a lot of my life I believed that the richest people were unhappy and hoarded money because they were never satisfied and did not know how much was enough. I am beginning to think differently. The more wealthy people I meet the less I hear about money and the more I hear about meaning. Sramana Mitra posted some interesting philanthropic conversations yesterday that should cause many of us to realize that we have an opportunity to participate more in the meaningful things in this world.
